Meet the Maker: Simon Standley
At the heart of our business is Simon Standley, a craftsman and weaver with a passion for the art of flatweave. With a deep appreciation for traditional British textiles and a commitment to quality, Simon has spent many years perfecting a stair runner that is both visually stunning and built to endure.

Drawing from generations of weaving heritage, Simon set out to create a product that combines beauty, strength, and authenticity — and today, every runner that leaves our workshop is a reflection of that vision.
Our Philosophy
We believe a stair runner is more than just a decorative feature — it’s a daily-use, hard-wearing part of your home. That’s why we obsess over the yarn quality, weave tension, and wool blend, ensuring that every piece meets the highest standards of performance and appearance.

We use a 3-ply, tightly spun British yarn that provides exceptional strength without sacrificing the refined, flatweave texture that our customers love. This construction gives our runners a dense, structured feel underfoot while maintaining their elegant, slimline appearance.

Our commitment to using British wool is central to what we do. Not only is it naturally strong and resilient, but it also connects us to a proud tradition of local craftsmanship. Supporting UK sheep farming and textile production is a responsibility we take seriously — and one we’re proud to pass on to our customers.
Our Workshop
Based in a beautiful rural setting in Shropshire, our small workshop is where the magic stars. Every colour, every pattern, every finished runners is carefully overseen and lovingly crafted by Simon and his team.​
